Year 11 leavers are to be congratulated on their efforts as the school saw a rise in its GCSE results this year. The percentage of students gaining 5 or more A*-C passes including Maths and English has gone up and a greater percentage of students have made expected progress in Maths. This reflects the continuing efforts of all staff to teach engaging lessons and to put in place a programme of revision and intervention sessions to ensure that students are well prepared for their examinations.
Excellent individual performances came from Maryam Javed (9 A* and A grade passes), Claire-Victoria Listhrop (8 A* and A grade passes) and Bethany Reid (7 A* and A passes).
All students who sat examinations achieved an appropriate set of qualifications.
